When it comes to fashion, every season change is a great opportunity for renewal and of course, shopping. Fall is here, winter is fast approaching and it is time to learn what fashion has in store for us this year.
We have seen it happening before in the past, fashion repeating itself. This year it is not an exception as some old trends are still “in fashion”, like the old time classic plaid and big, chunky sweaters, yet there are definitely eclectic.
Ready to have a look around this season’s hottest trends?
- Sweet 60s
If you follow fashion you know that every season has its own signature decade. This time round is the sweet 60s. Think mini-skirts, trapeze dresses, bold colours, and knee-high shiny leather boots, as seen on the runways of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu.
- All over Knits
As far as knits are concerned, this season, nothing is too big or too complicated. Marc Jacobs and Céline were among many designers who stated that this fall calls for comfy knits from head to toe and not just as sweaters. Still, as far as sweaters are concerned, think big, think chunky, think extreme turtlenecks, unless you want to feel out-of-fashion.
- Plaid madness
Plaid does not sound really original, does it? Still, this trend is here to stay once again. From coats to pants to skirts, or dresses, there is a “plaid” option out there for everyone.
- Midi skirts
This is fall’s best transition piece. It takes you from the office to date night with total ease and no self-consciousness. Pair it with a cropped top for a night out or a warm sweater for the ultimate office look.
- Wrap coats
Oversize wrap coats were big for spring 2014 and designers are keeping the trend for winter too. Everyone from Altuzarra to Richard Chai showed toppers that could double as bathrobes. Wear a wrap coat over a multitude of layers, or go for the “safe option” and team it with slim-cut trousers and a thin knit sweater.
- Winter white
If you think white is only for summertime, think again. It does take a lot of courage to wear white in the middle of winter as it is certain that the rainy weather will be your enemy. Still, white is extra chic, clean, fragile yet bold, making a look ultra feminine and elegant. Jackets, knits, and dresses in white paraded in designers runways; time to take a prominent seat into your wardrobe too!
