A new season is here, one that requires a change in your wardrobe. You cannot walk around in your long coat and boots, can you? New fashion trends have been introduced this season and we would love to be able to follow all of them. Unfortunately, that requires a ‘big’ wallet and unless you have won the lottery, it can be a bit difficult, to say the least, to make a full-wardrobe makeover.

Still, there is a new season change that is guaranteed to lift your spirits AND costs a lot less. I am referring to a hairstyle change, of course. Yes, a visit to your hairdresser’s is the easiest and quickest way to transform your look instantly, lift your spirits and feel fresher and sexier.

Still, not many of you want to chop off their long, beautiful hair or make a dramatic change of any kind. Don’t be afraid, though, cutting your beautiful long locks or chemically treating your hair color is not necessary. What is the best way to transform your hairstyle and hence, your look without actually having to alter its overall length?

I am sure you have all heard of fringes (or, bangs), this season’s hottest hair trend. Fendi, Marc Jacobs and Christopher Kane were only a few of the designers whose models launched this look in their spring-summer 2014 runways.

A fringe is the best option when you want a change that will accentuate good features and at the same time hide little faults. There are women, we see them everyday, that look absolutely beautiful with fringes. Still, does it look good on anyone? There are many available fringe styles giving you a chance of find the right one for your face shape. To do so, though, you need to take into account your face shape, hair texture (a fringe on curly hair can be a real disaster unless it is really long) and your individuality.

Choosing the right fringe for you works as an instant face-lift, it taking years off you and simultaneously makes your already beautiful eyes pop out even more creating an overall vibrant and sexy look.

  • Round face: this type of face really shines and stands out with a fringe that is shorter in the middle (not too short though) and longer on the sides, layered into your hair. This look softens the wider cheeks while making the face look more oval. Also, long, sideswept fringes add a flattering angle on this type of face shape.
  •  Oval face: this is the most versatile type of face shape. Choose any type of fringe you like and it will look good on you. From super-short to razored and from sideswept to wide, long solid fringes, it is certain that you will look absolutely gorgeous.
  •  Heart-shaped face: the main facial characteristic here is the prominent chin. So, a fringe should draw attention away from it. A heart-shaped face looks very good with a fringe. The best way is to go for a thick, blunt fringe that will make your cheeks stand out creating a balance. If you are not 100% sure, you can try a long, layered fringe, pulled to one side that will also help create a balance but you will also be able to put it behind your ears for your convenience.
  •  Square face: this type of face can easily wear a big, long fringe that touches the eyebrows or, one layered on the sides so that it can blend in with the rest of your hair. You can also go for an angled fringe that cuts diagonally which will give length to your face. No matter which style you use, the result will definitely amaze you.

For your own sanity and style maintenance, however, if you choose to have a fringe, never ever do you try to trim it yourself when your hair grows. You will end up with a result that won’t be easy to readjust. You can go to your hairdresser for that and they should do it for free as it will only take them 2-3 minutes maximum to do it. If they don’t, then, maybe it is time to consider changing them.

Many celebrities, regardless of their face shape, are fans of fringes. Why not you too?
